A Week Of PARADISE... In PARADISE!

CANCUN TRIP 2010, one week, no kids... Just me and Derek!

I can't even begin to describe how much fun we had last week. It was pure bliss and relaxation. Just to give you an idea of what I did all week while Derek was in meetings, I slept in til 10, ordered room service for breakfast while looking out over the ocean, put on a swim suit, flip flopped between beach and pool for about 4-5 hours while reading a book and ordering a virgin pina colada everyday, then back to the room to shower and get dressed up to go out.... Awesome. It was such a relaxing week for me. Derek was pretty busy with his conference stuff, but still found time to make it out to the beach with me.

This was the view from our room.

I love this picture. Can you see the hut on the left? All those little dots in the water are stools so you can pull up a seat in the water to order drinks or lunch... love the genius that thought of that!

Derek posing on the balcony of our room.

The first morning (Monday) we were pretty excited to be there, so we were on the beach at 8:30am. Do we look tired? Or pasty? Yes, both.

Monday night we went out to a Mexican restaurant in the area with a Mariachi band. It was loud, but good!

He's cute!

On Tuesday we ate lunch at the Bikini Bar at the hotel. It was delicious and beautiful. Look at that view!!!

Tuesday night we went to an opening social for Derek's conference. It was on the hotel patio overlooking the ocean. It was really nice and fun to dress up after a long day on the beach:)

Derek had meetings all Wednesday morning, but was done by noon so we hit the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

Just reading.

Wednesday night we had to go to a student social since Derek's on the student council for the Acoustic Society of America.

Thursday was the closing social for the conference. Again, fun to dress all business-y.

Friday morning we got up early and decided to go to the flea market to pick up some souvenirs. That was quite the experience. One guy I bought stuff from told me, "You're cheaper than a Mexican!" Ha, I thought that was funny. Although, I did get some really good deals.

Eating lunch at Mextreme. Really, that was the name of the restaurant.

We had an awesome server here and he dressed us up in these little numbers. Can you see my bullets?

When we got back from shopping we hit the beach again. I had to work on my tan and what else do you do in Cancun?

Friday night we had some money to blow at the hotel (they gave conference goers some money for food and drinks) so we went to one of their super nice restaurants. The food was so delicious and they had Mexican dancers and Mariachi players as their floor show while we ate. So fun!

Saturday was last day we were there so we got up early again to hit the beach. By 9am we were out there soaking in the sun. We ordered our last round of virgin pina coladas before we had to go back to the room to pack up. We look like a couple of deadbeats.

Oh, the pina coladas. You will forever be in my heart!
Well, the trip was a major success and well worth it. We enjoyed every minute! ...Until next time Cancun!

Jealous is the word that came out of my mouth and Ben's after reading this post. I'm glad you got to go! I remember you discussing it when you stayed with us. WE got your Christmas card yesterday. You have a truly beautiful family!!!

Where did you find that hat for Ben? I need one for Kyle and the wedding pictures that we have to take in Dec.
